Hermes Einrichtungs Service (HES) offers end-to-end solutions for distributing furniture, large household appliances and other heavy or large items. These services include warehousing, delivery, ready-to-use installation, repairs by qualified technicians and returns management. All of this requires excellent communication, collaboration and trust between the shipper and the logistics provider.
After all, retailers who sell furniture and large appliances online have to hand their merchandise over to a third party for delivery – and entrust that company with directly contacting their customers. It is therefore vital that they choose an experienced and reliable logistics partner. We will gladly and competently take charge of delivering your valuable and fragile merchandise rapidly, on time and undamaged to your customers.
We develop customised logistics solutions for businesses with shipment volumes of at least 1,000 items per year. We provide you with tailored interfaces, so you can take advantage of our services in a manner that optimally suits your needs – and at no additional cost.
A dedicated member of our customer service team will always be there to assist you with your daily business. He or she will be able to answer questions regarding the status of your orders, or put you in touch with the applicable despatch depot when problems arise.
We provide you with special cargo containers called swap bodies, which you then load with your merchandise. At an agreed time, we pick them up for preliminary transport to our distribution centre.
You (or your suppliers) may also deliver your merchandise to our distribution centre yourself. We take over from there by streaming your goods into our logistics process.
Transshipment hubs in Germany and Poland
Located in the town of Löhne, our German transhipment hub (12,000 sq m / approx. 130,000 sq ft) distributes up to 6,000 cubic metres (approx. 212,000 sq ft) of goods to our despatch depots each day.
Meanwhile the 49,000 square meter logistics center in Gołuski (located near Poznan, Poland) has 78 docks. More than 100 Polish manufacturers deliver goods on consignment here - furniture, electronic devices and other bulky consumer goods. The shipments are bundled and forwarded directly to Hermes depots for final delivery to the consumer. This offers substantial cost-saving advantages with respect to shipping and returns, along with superior flexibility and a transparent flow of goods. It also very substantially reduces overall delivery times.
