Hermes Fulfilment and consumer electronics supplier Chal-Tec continue their partnership. Both partners have agreed to extend the contract that was initially concluded in 2007 for a further three years.
Hermes Fulfilment handles the warehousing and distribution of the electronic items sold by Chal-Tec’s online store. The selection of items includes about 12,400 different products and ranges from PA systems, microphones, party lights and DJ equipment to TV and car hifi systems and fridges. All these items are stored in a distribution centre in the German town of Löhne that is operated by Hermes Fulfilment and specializes in handling furniture, white goods and consumer electronics.
Hermes Fulfilment has been providing logistics services to the consumer electronics retailer since 2007. “We have found an experienced and reliable partner in Hermes Fulfilment,” remarks Peter Chaljawski, managing director of Chal-Tec. “With the help of this partnership we have been able to rapidly expand our online business, also thanks to the extreme scalability of the processing capacities offered at the Löhne distribution center.” Not only does Chal-Tec have its own online stores – www.electronic-star.de and www.urdeal.de – it also supplies online marketplaces such as Amazon. Currently Hermes Fulfilment handles some 500,000 items a year for Chal-Tec. These items are distributed to 27 different European countries. At the start in 2007 they were only distributed to four different countries.
Headquartered in Berlin, Chal-Tec is Hermes Fulfilment GmbH’s oldest external client. Hermes Fulfilment GmbH was founded on 1 March 2006. “We are pleased that Chal-Tec continues to place its trust in our expertise as a full service provider,” says Dieter Urbanke, managing director of Hermes Fulfilment.
