Hermes, a Crate & Barrel sister company, to exhibit at IRCE

According to Forrester Research, eCommerce has grown significantly across Europe. Especially in countries such as United Kingdom (UK), Germany and France, online shopping is not only commonplace, but in rapid advance. The three countries alone currently combine for roughly 70% of European online sales. Within the 17 major European markets online retail sales are predicted to increase annually by 12% from US $129.6 billion in 2011 to US $230.4 billion in 2016.

“We know of many U.S. retailers who are seeking to diversify their activities by looking at growth opportunities in the European market” says Hanjo Schneider, CEO of Hermes Europe and member of the executive Board of the Otto Group. “We estimate that from 740 million Europeans, 364 million regularly use the web looking for online shopping offers around the world. Hermes provides U.S. retailers with international ambition the chance to do business with those consumers. Europe is literally just a mouse click away.”

Hermes assists North American retailers, web merchants, shopping portals and cataloguers by internationalizing their order life cycles through sourcing and quality control as well as international transport, fulfillment and the distribution across Europe.
