Hermes Fulfilment cooperates with Finnish logistics provider Itella. The aim of the partnership is to make it easier for West European retailers to enter the Russian market by offering them full service e-commerce solutions.

Hermes Fulfilment GmbH has strengthened its management team. Frank Marquard (51) has been responsible for the operational management of the Hamburg-based distance selling services provider since 1 April 2013. He will be supporting Dieter Urbanke who has been CEO of the company since it was founded in 2006. Dieter Urbanke is responsible for sales and marketing, finance and controlling, planning and performance, HR and corporate communications.

Hermes Fulfilment GmbH has been presented with the Logistics Innovation Award of the Association of German Engineers (VDI). The Hamburg-based distance selling services provider was recognised for its outstanding returns management system that moves returned goods, especially fashion items, back through the supply chain quickly and cost effectively. At the centre of this process is the company’s automated returns warehouse in Haldensleben (Saxony-Anhalt/Germany) which significantly reduces the amount of time it takes to get a returned item from returns arrival back into the stock available for sale. VDI was particularly impressed by the level of automation and the system’s maintenance concept.

Hermes Fulfilment and consumer electronics supplier Chal-Tec continue their partnership. Both partners have agreed to extend the contract that was initially concluded in 2007 for a further three years.

Kenco, a leading provider of value-added distribution, public warehousing, transportation services and intelligent information technology, is now offering integrated international retail and logistics services with German-based Hermes Fulfilment.

Hermes Fulfilment helps Austrian luxury brand Wolford execute its strategy to internationalise its online retail operations selling lingerie, swimwear, hosiery. Hermes Fulfilment is a 100% subsidiary of the Otto Group. On behalf of its client Wolford it has now entered the e-commerce marketplace in the United States where it is working with logistics services provider Kenco Logistic Services LLC (KLS). At its distribution centre in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Kenco will handle the storage, order picking and distribution of the Wolford merchandise.

In the past, having the option to browse and buy a wide range of products around the clock, and being able to deal with both a company’s online and retail stores interchangeably was something consumers could only ever dream of. But that’s no longer the case thanks to ADD/UP, a new joint venture between Hamburg-based mail order fulfilment house Hermes Fulfilment and Osnabrück-based fashion logistics provider Meyer & Meyer. The two organizations are combining their expertise to create a brand-new service for the fashion industry: "Until now, there has been no comparable solution on the market that brings together both distance selling and store-based retailing in this way," comments Meyer & Meyer CEO Michael Meyer.

HSE24 is a new customer of Hermes Fulfilment. HSE24, the home shopping and multi-channel specialist has engaged Hamburg based fulfilment services provider Hermes Fulfilment to process its fashion and beauty product shipments. For this it will be using the warehousing and returns management fulfilment modules. The partnership is to start mid July.

Hermes Fulfilment continues to build on its third-party business. Following the successful acquisition of new clients Tom Tailor and Wolford, the Hamburg-based fulfilment provider has now acquired yet another renowned business partner within a few months - Seidensticker. For the world-famous shirt-maker with the black rose, the Otto Group subsidiary has undertaken all back-office processes for its webshop.
